hi! my name is jess and I'm a fifth year industrial/interaction design major at syracuse university. here are a few photos I've taken that give you a taste of my life at su.
this is smith hall, where the magic happens. most people that go to su will never set foot inside this building, but the industrial/interation design majors and interior design majors spend more time here than we do our apartments and dorms.
fifth year for the iid majors is devoted to thesis. this year we have a visiting design, ruth spitzer, working with us on the research portion. this is my friend chris meeting with her after the first phase of research.
one of the projects we worked on this year was the tea-off, an international design competition sponsored by the industrial design society of america to redesign the tea kettle. here I'm helping kelly with some wire models.

That's me, working away! I'm a junior in the Communications Design major at SU, and I love it. The works is very challenging, and even though it can be exhausting at times, as the CommDesign saying goes, "Just because we don't sleep, doesn't mean we don't have dreams!"
Midnight is a 6 year old black lab that lives with me and my housemates off-campus.
The best thing about living off-campus is having my own room again :-) I also got to paint the walls whatever color I wanted. My bed is super comfortable (as well as my favorite place to do work).
This is a typical CMD 450 class. The entire class period (and sometimes beyond) is devoted to critique.
